2015 – Canceled GranFondo

The race / ride was canceled (probably a good thing as there would have been crashes) but a few of us turned up anyway. Two days of nice cycling.

Day 1

Started as a group of about 10 or 15. Split going up the hill with some going on the planned route and a group of us try to summit the main hill (3000m+). We got past the gate but stopped by police 10km after and had to turn back. Good to see the police doing their job projecting a nature reserve from a bunch of cyclers. Buses (local) seemed to get in all right. Turned back and headed down for a good lunch followed by a climb up and over a few hills with a flat finish. Very nice day of cycling.

 There is a fast train from Shanghai which takes 3 hours direct making it a possible weekend get away from Shanghai. There is a granfondo planned in November which should be great. Many places to stay but gets busy. Nice mountain and road biking.
