Dishui Lake – Aug 29, 2015, 6:15am

On Saturday, Aug 29 we had ~25 cyclists from Pudong Cyling do the 150k round trip to Dishui Lake. High AQI the previous 2 days threatened to derail the plans, but with borderline conditions that morning – we decided to go.

The group stayed together, at a comfortable pace for everyone, out to the Pudong Cycling Drinkstand and then along Gongli to Lianggang Highway. There the smooth open road was too much for the faster guys and a little racing ensued.

We regrouped before turning onto the lovely tree line Tangxia Road which then took us down to Lingang Avenue and then to the Lake.

After a brief stop for pictures, we set off to draw the perfectly round circle around Dishui before heading back to Shanghai in two pace groups.

The return trip was not without incident – A puncture was followed by a rubbernecking induced tumble and I experienced a weird episode of severe leg cramps that caused me to drop at 110kms. But the groups carried on through a rain shower to arrive home around mid-day – muddy but happy.
