SCO delegation visits Pudong. 24th September 2016!

Today I had pleasure to do my ride with amazing guys from Pudong. Plan was – first picking up the one and only Karen and going together to GC (German Center which is the meeting point for morning weekend rides). I was a bit late because I forgot that Fuxing Ferry starts at 5:55 (and I came there at 5:35 so lost time on waiting for the first ferry…) but at least I met Volker, JB and Katrine before they departed to smash some proper Expo laps or some other crazy ride for 18h… those triathletes… lol!

Picked up Karen around 6:25 and 10min later we were at GC with already few ppl waiting! Fortunately for me (I am sick a bit) all the superultrafreakinfast guys were at the race (congrats to Soeren and Giel for their podium!). This of course doesn’t mean that there were no more superultrafreakinfast guys in the group, plenty of them still. Great that we have Social Sunday so there was no need to introduce meself to the guys as we already met many times! But it was awesome to see them in their normal enviroment finally!

We started, Mark the Teddybear (pic rel below) was our leader keeping the pace steady and nice. Few turns here and there and we reached drinkstand which is Pudong’s famous Blue Gemeinschaft (not so famous actually). After refuelling we decided to add few more kms and we went to even more famous (it is a really famous place) Danny’s treelined road! And Danny was with us today, so no better guide through those famous concrete roads than him! I’ve heard legends about that place and I can assure you – all of I’ve heard was true! Amazing place.  It looked so unreal I was thinking I am in the outskirts of some SE Asia’s town or Central America’s place… only drug dealers were missing! Plenty of abandoned villas. Maybe I should invade some of those lol.

Group spreaded a bit along the route as there was some traffic messing our pace. Finally we reached the end of the treelined road and started the bridge attack as there are 5 (or so) bridges on the way back to the city. Little climbing is always good! Group came back together, we stopped at nice coffee and breakfast place (we miss such thing in Puxi…) and after few lattes and nice conversation we had to split and go home! It was a nice change from my trainer rides or even HQM rides that I usually do (maybe not so many this year but still it counts!),  I will join more often for sure even if I need to wake up at 4:30AM like today… lol! But it was all worth the effort!

Thanks guys!

Just few pics as my phone is going crazy and most of the pics I took were out of focus (WTF?!), need to get a new one (or bring Ken so he can take pics and I can focus on riding!).
